Affiliate Marketing, Mailing, Domaining and A WickedFire Merger - The Nicer Side of Jon Fisher

Well, I’d like to start off this post by saying that for once, in a very long time, I’ve had one hell of a successful week. Both in work and personal related topics. Hell, I can’t even remember the last time I was so productive and satisfied with the way everything has gone. I kept telling myself all week long “man, I should have done this a year ago” over and over again. But alas, I’m just glad that I finally got my mojo back and actually did what I was thinking of, instead of putting it off to handle shit that doesn’t do any good for me.

So lets get rolling…

During the last two weeks rather I’ve gone through some interesting changes. For one, I decided to stop posting or caring about what people said to or about me on my forum or on any blogs or chatrooms/channels. I decided that its just not worth the time and effort I usually spend getting so riled up and pissed off to the point where I want to cause harm to those who may piss me off or get to me. So, instead of going nuts, I just sorta got up and walked away.

I’ve decided not to leave the industry per se. I am definitely done with fighting and trying to help people who will never do anything in return for me or will never contribute back. It’s bothered me for quite some time, but again, I’m only one person, and there is only so much I can do or say to help someone out.

Here are some topics and a bit of an explaination into what I’ve been working on that’s kept me in such high spirits over the last two weeks (specifically this last week). Just goes to show you that no matter how much you think you may know, there is always room for learning a lot more. I felt like a bit of a newbie, and again, instead of avoiding the issue, I spearheaded it right in the melon.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing through Emailing = I’ve decided to get back into being a mailer. Unfortunately for me, I have to go through an entire re-education program, because the way I used to mail/spam, is both obsolete and not CAN-SPAM compliant. Talk about a strike to the ego. But this wasn’t about my ego, and its something I’ve been curious about for a while now. The last time I did serious mailing was about 8 or 9 years ago. I had been a very big time mailer back then, and my old mailer, that my Russian developers “borrowed” from me, renamed and reskinned into a new brand and proceeded to sell for dirt cheap is actually still around to this day! That one, if you’re curious was named SendSafe. It was based on my theory of socks mailing protocol and MX protocol mailing. For back then, it was considered state of the art. For nowadays, its considered hopeless, haha. But even so, I decided to ASK for help. Scott Richter and crew (John & Winston) have volunteered to teach me everything all over again. We went through a rundown and overall I have no doubt I can someday soon become one hell of a big boy mailer again. Oh yeah, its also expensive as all hell compared to the old days. My buddy Jason/Skrilla also gave me a rundown, since he knew me back then when he was a newbie and now he’s a powerhouse mailer of his own. Showed me that it will cost the avg mailer about $10k-$30k just to get started. All of the servers, IP’s, domains, lists (if you’re buying or making them yourself), and mailing software licenses plus throw in the time and effort and its well, expensive. But definitely worthwhile I think! I’ve heard though that mailing doesn’t bring in as much cash as it did when we did it back then, but then again, the fact that its still a huge source of income for people is reason enough to take a deep look into doing it yourself.

Also uncovered some insane new shit, but that’s going to be somewhat explained in the next section…

Internet Marketing with Traffic Arbitrage

Well, this is something I’m no stranger to. Except this time I decided to approach a completely different crew, and see if we could get something rolling fairly quickly and decide if it was something to seriously persue or not. In short, the answer is yes. We’ve actually stumbled onto a way to do SERIOUS arbitrage in such mass volume that instead of concentrating on the eCPC/eCPM of the campaigns, we’re doing it by PER SECOND and PER MINUTE revenues. Its less than a week old and we’ve already hit gold on it. Green gold. At some points when traffic is ramped up to around 80%, we are averaging $1 per click per second! We can do around $1,000/hr with some of the niches we’ve uncovered with absolutely no problem. The beauty of this (aside for the obvious stated) is that its an untapped market only being capitalized on by some very large companies. This isn’t the same ppc arbitrage or traffic laundering campaigns that has ever been discussed on any forum. This is a leap ahead of all of that. Although I won’t knock the other stuff, because you can still do some pretty outstanding numbers with. But for this, my team and I, I shot them the idea. We spent maybe an hour or so discussing it. The developer made it all happen. I secured the necessary people involved for the deal to make it go live, and the other guy, the business manager/investor flipped the traffic switch and we were go for launch. The whole thing, from start to finish took less than 48 hours before we were already in the black! If only ALL projects could go that well and that quickly. But I think what you have to take out of this in terms of advice is that — 1- Don’t be Mr. Greedypants.  2- Realize what you’re really good at and stick to doing just that. Don’t try to take on other stuff. and finally 3- Only work with people who have a PROVEN track record at being successful. It will save you so much time and issues. Trust and loyalty can be built up through a deal like this, but you probably should trust your team members at least enough to work with them.

Domaining

I had a lengthy chat with a really underrated domainer Sharon Tucci. We spoke about a lot of things that we had in common over running communities and how things change so rapidly, especially how jaded you will become after the first year. She runs NND, which was a private paid service that would email you domain names that are real gems and available for registration immediately. I’ve snagged hundreds of really great domains from her lists over the last year or so that I’ve been a subscriber for. But alas, some things are better off ending in their prime than later. She had to close it down because of so many people driving her to the point of insanity. Maybe we should switch communities. She can take WickedFire for a month and I’ll take NND. Nah, we are both tired of breakdowns and super stress related gigs. Anyhow, we spoke about some other stuff that I can’t discuss here just yet, but hopefully when they go into beta, I’ll be able to get into it more, because its stuff in domaining that really will change the landscape of how we produce our income through buying and selling. She also gave me loads of tips on how to sell domains to private buyers without going through auctions or forums that were so blatantly obvious, I felt like a retard that I didn’t think of it before. The lady also has a TON of really really great domain names. Including lots just for the direct mail and email marketing industries. Just tonight, based on the stuff we spoke about I decided to change the way I look and research for domains, and truth be told, I found some REAL gems that I immediately showed to a different domainer pal, and he valuated them at over $3k each. Can you imagine that shit? $3000 domains just sitting around waiting to be found, when all you have to do is just change the way you look for domains by going from the buyer’s/investor’s perspective rather than the “how can I flip this for some quick coin” perspective. Its nuts. But thats just a valuation, so I am going to spend time this week flipping all six of them I hope, and get back to you guys on the results of it. Maybe write up a lil something something on how I went about it, but again, no more good details, because I’m just not up for sharing details like I used to, and then get nothing but drama and bullshit in return for it.

WickedFire Drama and Industry Bullshit

Well, we can’t have a perfectly spotless week or two without some of this. But luckily it was only about one or two different topics that everyone else was going wild about, and for some awesome reason, which I still don’t know how, I was able to just ignore it and put it aside. Oh wait, yes, I do know why now. I was able to ignore it because I was concentrating on myself for a change. Getting back to making money for ME, not you or anyone else. I had the feeling that I can’t remember having since before starting WickedFire. And what a great and dearly missed feeling it was. Now I’m not saying that I’m giving up on WickedFire or its members and industry, because I’m not. I am saying that I am done with fighting with other members when there are so many other common enemies we’re all going to be facing soon enough.

Lastly, we’ve decided to take a break from negotiations over last week and this week towards the WickedFire merger deal with DM Confidential. Me, Jay and Hagai spoke about it before as a joke in Denver, but then it actually made a lot of sense. There are just too many benefits to ignore, and since they are both guys that I have nothing but extreme admiration for and flat out respect, I can’t really think of a better group of guys to go into battle alongside. We want to keep WickedFire the same but add free services that never left the research and development table, and now finally can. I can’t go into great depth about it just yet as nothing is finalized, but I can assure you, when it is, and when they want to release something about it, everyone will see exactly what we’ve come up with and I’m damn sure it will be embraced.

I think this is a pretty good post. Not the usual angry and pissed off at the world Jon kinda post that you usually see. Even so, that’s not to say that I didn’t have some bad shit happen, but nothing I’m prepared to air out on my blog about so that some smartass douches can take cheap shots at me, ha!

Champagne to my real friends and pain to my sham friends!

    Wow man,

Things are looking great for you. It’s pretty amazing that there is a method out there that can make you that much affiliate revenue PER MINUTE. Damn, I’ll have to look out for that one. I have nothing but respect for you and wickedfire. Keep it real.

Thats interesting $$ numbers with the traffic arbitrage. I still cook some very decent ppc arb numbers but your revenue is most impressive, I’d love to have the recipe!

    Well done anyway!!

Jesus Christ! I have always thought my English is better than what you changed my comment to. Come on! At least, use a bit better grammar so that people would understand it was actually me who left that comment and it was not one of your stupid tactics.

By the way, I registered as Wickedfire because I thought of using one URL in the URL field. SIGH: There is no URL option. If you can change it to dayjober, please do it. Anyway, Hope you will get well soon!
