Some New Things To Announce..

Haven’t had much time to blog lately so I finally had some free time, and here I am! Just wanted to give a plug to Lee with his new forum. It’s called EarnersForum.com and it’s for big and small time affiliate marketers to come together and swap ideas. I actually love his layout, and I’m not even just saying that. Beautifully designed and skinned. He’s also running a big contest and giving away something like $20,000 in cash and prizes for being an active member. WickedFire.com and EarnersForum.com have more of a pact because we are not in direct competition with eachother. His forum has a much more serious and professional tone, whereas mine, well, mine is meant for shooting the shit without censorship. Definitely check it out, join up, post around, and win yourself some money. Lee is a good friend of mine and an even better forum owner than anyone I know. I see only good things for EarnersForum.com in the future, and there may be some type of partnership between WickedFire.com and EarnersForum.com in the future. ;)

WickedFire is doing pretty damn well. For a forum less than 2 weeks old, we’ve already surpassed 13,000 posts, over 1,100 threads with over 925 members. Zero dollars were spent on advertising and promotions thus far. I’m also pleased to announce that the first contest has come to an end, for those users who got to 500 posts and 50 threads. Finally, they can get some sleep and take a shower. There will be a TON of new an interesting contests to look forward to this and next week. More details on that at a later date. There will also be a newsletter going out shortly to all of the members to keep everyone updated on industry news, things going on inside the forum, and other affiliate marketing type things you may be interested in.

Last thing to announce, and this one may cause a stir, but as I disucssed it with my partner we both feel as if it’s the right choice. There is a 50% chance that I will auction off some of my sites for a minimum price of $100k. Yes, that’s $100,000 USD. Why so high you ask? Well, the sites make a minimum of $150,000 a year, and quite frankly, I want to get out the industry they are in. Our focus has been shifted towards a very large niche network project of well over 2.5 million niches and sites. Think of about.com, but without all of the ads and crappy outdated “expert advice” content. Being that I’m no longer liquid, it would be pretty ideal to scrape up some cash instead of seeking out private investors. I’ve put a lot of thought into it, and unless our last investor decides to continue with us, we’ll be selling out. If we do sell out, I’ll be posting the site on WickedFire.com and perhaps SPF. The site will come with everything you need, if you are the buyer, to begin making money immediately. I’ll give you the server, the sites, and phone consultation on how to keep it going. All you’d really have to do is switch over the YPN and/or Adsense ads and CPA network ads to your own account. There’s tons of traffic on it already, so there’s no need to start from scratch. All traffic sources will be included as well. As much as I don’t like to sell sites, sometimes you feel you’d rather focus on a very big and longterm project instead of quick cash makers. But that’s just me I guess.

Major New Developments

I have given this a lot of thought over the last 24 hours, and I’ve decided to end my radio show. It may come as a surprise to a lot of you readers and fans of the first pilot episode, but the reason for my decisions is because I have been lagging on producing episodes, and I feel as if I’ve failed any fans of the show or potential listeners. I know the idea is awesome, and it would do wonders for the blog if I would continue it, but honestly, it takes up too much time from my day, and I’m just not ready to devote so much time for one thing. Although it was a really fun experience until now, I would much rather put my focus on two major projects for webmasters. The blog, and the new forum.

Which leads me to the 2nd major development. Wickedfire.com launched yesterday, and although I wasn’t expecting too many people to join it and even post much it totally exceeded every expectation I had. I am happy to report that within the first 24 hours of launching we had over 100 new users join, over 2,000 posts, and over 100 new threads. I’m in complete shock too. I had no idea how active a forum could be, or overactive even. I really didn’t think there were that many webmasters out there who wanted to just hang out and shoot the shit with one another, but I guess now that there is an outlet for you guys and girls to just kick back and have some fun during your day that it’s a good thing already.

I’ve decided to setup a few contests that will reward winners with custom made sites made by my team of developers. All of the sites awarded will be overseen by me, personally. The winners will also be required to sign an agreement contract and an NDA, but, they are getting themselves some awesome new niche built sites specifically for them and no one else. These are the exact sites I have been making for the last few months. Although traffic is something they’ll have to bring on for themselves, I can assure you that the ease of use of these sites have no comparison to anything else around. I can sell them if I want, but where’s the fun in that?

WickedFire will also have an apparel line which will not be for sale. The only way to get your hands on them is to win a contest or be awarded them. I am lucky enough to have a family member who owns an apparel manufacturing business, so I can get really great quality items at very cheap rates. Lucky me! But seriously, I think it would be cool if people wore them at conferences and industry parties. I’m also going to launch a ladies line for any of the females out there who want them, because there are so few of you, there will be a unique design to them so you can feel cooler than the guys.

That’s it for now, gotta get back to the forum to keep tabs on everything for the time being, or until I start adding mods. If you have a lot of forum experience, you can shoot me an email with your forum track record to be considered for a mod position. Most mods will be via invite only, and mod powers are very limited so that we can keep a very “freedom” oriented forum concept alive. Only those who truly piss people off will be banned or punished. Almost everything is fair game on there too, which I think is cool.

I’ll be launching the premium section of the forum in the future, maybe a month or two from now, after we hit 1,000 members. I think without the focus of the radio show I can direct a lot more focus on what the premium forum section will be like. I have a ton of great ideas to really help people out. Some of them include a guarantee that every user on there will make at least $1,000 within the month. I don’t care who you are, or how stupid you are, or how little amount of money you have at your disposal. I will make sure and be there for support to prove that you can do it. This is the ultimate ebook killer too. Because they are always making false claims about their proven systems and all that bullshit, with no real support, well, that’s all about to change. So look out for it.

Again, thank you to everyone who has joined the forum. It’s extremely active, and there is a very minimal delay from posting something to getting a response back. Even the big forums don’t have that! Also, the forum is on it’s own dedicated box, so it’s very fast and can handle a truly shitload of users at any given time, and if things do start slowing down, I’ll add another box for load balancing. Keeping everything super fast is a big priority of mine for this.

That’s all for now.. keep pluggin’ away boys and girls.

WickedFire Forums has been launched!

Finally, the forum that differs from all other forums is here. It’s my gift to the webmaster industry. A place where you can kick back, and shoot the shit with your fellow webmasters. Make new friends, put your affiliate links and banners in your sigs, no censorship whatsoever. Some other perks include that major players in the industry have agreed to join and become REAL mentors, unlike the policing mentors found on SitePoint or other forums. If you have questions post them there. It’s going to be my new hangout. I’ll be logged on there all the time, so it’s a great place to catch me and other all-stars of the affiliate marketing and traffic game. No fake gurus here boys and girls!

You’ll notice that there are very few categories, and no sub-categories. Reason for this is that I feel being too organized in a forum, especially for webmasters, takes away from the fun of ‘chatting’. It will also keep numerous new posts active for as long as they need to be, and allow the new to overcome the old ones. Well, it makes sense to me, so that’s all that matters!

The rules, as I’ve stated before are pretty simple. Don’t spam, and don’t harass the crap out of people. Poking fun is fine, but don’t go too far or you’ll be warned.

I’m going to add a scammer thread where we can act as a community and post known scammers, both people and programs so that everyone, especially newbies are warned and won’t buy their junk.

Join up and spread the word.

…and let me know what you think of the layout/design and logo.

Design a Logo for My Forum!

I need a logo designed for my webmaster forum project - wickedfire.com - So in true webmaster form (not forum!), I made a SitePoint contest. I’m offering $175 for just the logo, and there are no real rules or requirements to go by. Here’s your chance, if you’re a designer, to be extremely creative with no boundries, and with a pretty solid and easy to work with name.

The winning logo will pretty much determine the colors and layout of the site too. Not to mention the winner will land some plug promotions on my radio show and on the forum itself. This is a fantastic way for a designer who is really confident of his/her work to show everyone what they are made of, and get the proper recognition for it too!

If you want to recommend a really good designer, point them to the contest link, and tell them to give it their best shot. I know $175 for a logo isn’t much, but it comes with plenty of good advertising too, so why not give it a try?
