Radio Show - Episode 001
Post your questions that you’d like me to answer. Please don’t ask personal questions, or to see my sites, because I’ll just ignore those.
If there are less than 20 questions posted, I’ll try and address them all on the air.
Also, after your question, include what you think the topic of the first show should be..
Help spread the word.. the more people involved, the more free advice you get access to.
Anchor text for link backs should be - affiliate blog OR affiliate marketing blog

I’d like to know about a few of the better implementations of AdSense you’ve seen.
What is your thoughts around the google sandbox with new sites for your projects? The jagger updates?
How do you make a vast amount of websites quickly to stamp out any potential competion in a niche?
I think the topic should be: 20 ways to make your site profitable.
In your opinion, Should someone new to affiliate marketing target a single program and promote it, or promote many different programs and then focus on what performs the best?
I would like to know what methods do you credit to bringing the fastest growthand substantial income on your sites.
Plus
How much value do you put design (good looking site, usable, Information Architecture) in the success of your sites. For example, many recognize that ugly sells for them (look at craigslist).
How much time do you dedicate to each site and what sites do you spend the most time on? Would also like to know what methods you use in site construction. Dedicated programming or site construction software (out of the box)?
Jon, one question which I have is how can humour topic sites make money from affiliate programs?
Now, I have had some success in AM with my business related sites. However, none of my humour (you know those funny videos, pictures, games, links etc. etc.) related sites make any money.
Second question — what is the best possible way to jump into financial arena? My personal case — I am a Non-American (for now) and all the CJ financial programs that I have tried to apply to automatically reject me (other than loan.com which reviewed and accepted my sites).
Now what kind of financial sites make the most — content, review or what kind.
Lastly, I am not going to ask you to give even a wee bit specifics about your site but can your tell what genre of sites do you mainly run? Content, review, deals or some other kind?
Appreciate your time! Thanks.
Opps! I fogot something.
Also, after your question, include what you think the topic of the first show should be..
My suggestion would be — The biggest mistakes that you see those new to AM making.
I would like to know how long it takes you to sit down and work up copy for a new site/niche - do you do it yourself after much study/research or do you outsource writers, and do you have a set length (words) you suggest not going over before it bores and turns away a potential customer.
Name the first show: “Get off your ass and do it!” It could focus on stopping with the talk and working on the walk. (Yes, I’m serious!)
Creationnation.com is being added to my blogroll for coming up with the first episode name. Congrats!
What’s the best cpm networks to start with? What kind of info should we know to help us get approved before we sign up?
What is your system for finding new lucrative niches.
Where do you go trendspotting, trying to find niches that may yield in big fist-comers-advantage.
What software do you use to setup new sites quickly.
When, if at all, do you hook more interactivity to a site, like a forum or a CMS that allows users to contribute articles. Or do you produce sites that come with such a CMS from the beginning.
What kind of research do you do after you have found a possible niche?
Can you give us the top 10 tools that have contributed to your success?
I was reading your post in which you suggested, “create your own little network of 100 sites in the gardening or lawn care arena”. I would like to know why you advocate creating so many sites within the same niche. Is the point of this exercise to then link your themed sites to each other? If so, wouldn’t this pose a problem if all of your web sites reside on the same server.
I would also like to know how you would suggest that we generate traffic to these sites other than through PPC traffic. You mentioned that we should get incoming links to each page of our web sites, but what is an effective way to do that?
In your post titled ‘Applying the K.I.S.S. Method To Your Projects’, you say to
“Use the notes from this post to create your own little network of 100 sites in the gardening or lawn care arena.”
The question I have on this, is how different would all the sites be? Just rewordings of the same articles? Slightly different areas of lawn care? Would all the articles you write be better kept on the one main site? Writing 100 sites on one topic sounds kind of spammy?
I was wondering, Do you use any ads manager software to display ads and links on all of your sites ?something like phpadsnew ?
and many thanks for all your wonderfull advice
As mentioned in the K.I.S.S. thread, I’d love to hear more about how you drive traffic to your sites. I have a series of about 10 sites, built almost exactly the way you describe in the other thread. Those sites have never managed more then 10 uniques a day on their own, and my PPC campaigns basically broken even on them.
As I mentioned in the other thread, with traffic, you at least have a chance to make a tiny bit, even if you screw everything else up. But without traffic, even pennis are impossible.
I truly believe that it all starts with getting targeted traffic to your site. From there, you can tweak the site for maximum profitability.
Thanks,
~Mike
Hi Jon,
You mentioned:
“PLEASE do not go overboard. Make sure you have good title tags, SOME alt text tags on your images, and some incoming links to all of your pages, that’s right, not just your index page, and the engines will bring in your traffic.â€
Also you suggest to create network of sites (100+ sites) & you will be able to make $150 per day!
Well, I think that it’s NOT going to be that easy.
Pointing some incoming links to my site pages will not do the job unfortunately!!
It’s more hard SEO working on a daily basis in order to get more traffic & therefore gain more revenue from Ad Networks, etc.!
Thanks & regards,
Mike
Unfortunately, I didn’t see option to edit my previous post. Without intention to spam your blog, I posted also my reply in your ‘Radio Show’ section. I hope that it will be part of your ‘live’ discussion soon! I am especially interested in your SEO thoughts & therefore how you create traffic to your network of sites. I hope that your radio discussions will be recorded & placed somewhere on your site, so that we can also listen to it in case we can’t participate your ‘live show’ for whatever reason!
Many thanks, Mike
