The Ebook Crusade

Wow.

That was my reaction to the outpour of  praise and willingness to help out with me spearheading this anti-guru ebook crusade. I’ve been getting a shitload of emails with people sending me the ebooks they bought, and most of them agreed to refund it too! GOOD! Refund it all guys! Don’t let these gurus win and take advantage of you, and continue to spread the word to your friends and peers. Send your ebooks to me at Jon @ wickedfire.com. I will not make your info public either, I’m more than fine with taking the heat for it. Let’s rat these guys out and show everyone how full of shit they all are!

Anyhow, I am only going to do ONE new ebook post a week or two weeks. I know there are like a billion of these idiots around, and tons of them to expose, but this is not my life, and while I despise them, I don’t want my blog to turn into an ebook type of blog. I’m all about search and affiliate marketing, so I don’t want to head off topic with these ebook outings. But I definitely do appreciate the praise, feedback, and even some of the constructive criticism. Keep it going, and if you get an email for some new super hyped up ebook or seminar crap sent your way from the gurus, send it to me and I’ll start investigating it and post my findings here.

It’s important that everyone know that I’m not in this for the money or even the fame, I just want them to know that someone is taking a stand against them, and going to post their crap for free from now on. Will it bring down their shady industry? I doubt it. But maybe I will be able to inspire more people to do the same thing I’m doing, and educate people about this super shady and super profitable (only for the guys on top — aka pyramid scheme) business.

My next victims will be Rich Jerk, and Niche Marketing on Crack. I’ve also begun to compile a list of self proclaimed gurus and experts who I will follow closely and go after each one of them seperately. This is not just my war, but all of ours. I’m not some type of martyr or a guy with a huge ego. I’m just a regular veteran within the real internet marketing industry that is just sick and tired of these turds getting away with ripping people off. So join with me, and let’s all make a difference. Flood their email lists with fake email addresses, poison their forums with links to their products for free, discredit them and question them over and over again. The only reason they are making money off of this is because no one is going up against them until now. I am only one guy, and there’s only so much damage I can do. I need your help! If you truly want to make a difference, link your blogs and forums to me. Spread the word. Get other people involved. Stop being silent and voice your opinions and genuine dislike for these scumbags! There are more of us than them, and we can take them down, although it may take some time, we can do it!!

If you want to volunteer with me, send me an email about it and what you can do to help out! Let’s take these fuckers down!

I think what I may end up doing is paying someone to write a sort of “generic brand” of the ebooks that come out, and just give those out for free. They would be the same thing as the branded/paid version, but with a different name, and be available 100% for free. I don’t want to make any money off of any of this, so please don’t offer anything except your links or your help in volunteering. If you buy the ebooks for me, refund it right away. They are already starting to block me from buying stuff, so I do need your help in getting these. I want to create a database of every major scammy ebook out there, and have a free replica version of it to match. If you’re one of their big affiliates, then my war is on you too, because you are just helping them scam people.

Alright, enough from me and my hate on them. I’m not against all ebooks either, just the scammy ones for internet marketing, so please stop labeling me as being against all of them when I am clearly not. Thanks again for the support, and keep those emails coming. I read all of them myself, and respond to a few of them too.

Back to work for me. WickedFire has been being neglected in the last few weeks, and my baby needs me more than the ebook world does. So see you guys next week on my next ebook blog post. It’s going to be a good one. >;)

I like the “generic brand” idea. Message me if you need help regurgitating these scam books into a “kirkland” brand ebook.
    haha

Great idea with the ebook reviews, Jon. The reaction by people just shows how fed up everyone is with trying to find helpful information and getting scammed with overpriced ebooks.

You can’t find a site anywhere that honestly tries to review an ebook without pushing their affiliate links.

Can you make a list of the ebooks you currently have so we know not to send you duplicates and waste your time?

Stop wasting your time. Here is a summary of every “get rich doing ______ SECRETS” e book I’ve ever seen.

4 pages telling you, in every combination of words possible, that this book will change your life.

3-4 testimonials where someone tells you that reading the book changed their life (even though the book came out after the testimonial was written). Don’t forget to add pictures of smiling people from your favorite stock image bank.

25-50 pages telling you what the book will enable you to do after you read it. This has to include at least 10 screen shots of a likely Photoshopped ClickBank account that makes 700 dollars a day, but everything has to be blurred out except the date and dollar amount.

2-3 pages telling you the most obvious, well-known points about the subject of the book (the million dollar secrets).

    10 pages of upsells.

    Dude,

I think you’re doing an amazing job! I’m so sick of jack-asses throwing out the same sales pitch and getting rich by teaching other people how they can POSSIBLY get rich.

To anyone newbie reading this - GET OFF ALL THOSE DAMN MAILING LISTS! I’m pretty sure everything they will ever need learn has already been covered by you … we don’t need more $97 ebooks, we need more priceless kick-in-the-butts to follow up like Jon

come on graywolf, you afraid someone is going to review your ebook? ebook reviews are a great idea, there are probably a lot of good AND bad ones out there, let the market decide who sucks and who doesn’t.

Am I missing something here. You guys posting sites for ebook downloads are not really giving out downloads. You just want people to come to your site. dahh.. wickedstudent not dumb…dahh me smart. ba ba ba ba

You guys in my opinion are worst than the ebook creators, you make me sick.

Good show! It’s about time someone did a hardcore site like this. I get more bullshit from these internet marketers in a week than I can actually read.

And every time it’s the same thing!

    1. “This will make you a lot of money”

    2. “You need this info to be successful”

    3. “I just found this great business opportunity”

And then there are those fake review sites that are nothing more than a thinly disguised sales pitch that end with an affiliate link to the product.

Here’s a tip… many of those ebooks can be gotten for free on the gnutella networks. And that’s all most of them are worth, a free download.

As for The Rich Jerk, his name is Kelly Felix and he is a 25 year old former actor. This info came out 2 years ago.

Here are two more assholes to watch out for:

Nana Gilbert-Baffoe and Scott Boulch. Both like to send a lot of shit to their mailing lists. And they push the same junk, like Day Job Killer.

Also any ebook about Adsense written by Joel Comm is trash.
He makes money selling worthless templates.

P.S. loved the expose on Duvet Dollars! I knew it was by Chris McNeeny, author of APX and Affiliate Miracle. The “Victoria” person is a fake.

Its really funny the stories made up by The Rich Jerk whenever he got something to sell. For example during StomperNet pre-launch, he accused Brad Fallon and Andy J stole his secrets. Latest drama, one of his partners exposed his Google Adwords account… .BOOORRRING

i’m sure he got that skills from his acting jobs.

What you are doing Jon is almost as unethical as the marketers that create ebooks. Those ebooks are copyright and posting downlaod pages violates those copyright and intellectual property laws. I suggest you stop while you’re ahead. We gft the joke. ha ha ebooks suck but its old and just plain stupid.

Also, you need to do a better job a wickedfire keeping the forum running smoothly. the 2007 WF winter thingy never really got off the ground and there are other issues.

    Hey Smartest Poster,

Can you give me a link to your forum so I can see how its done. Jon is responsible for Jon, not you. Ebook writers are responsible people too. They will do what they want or need to do, if they want. For now I am grateful for this forum and ALL it does.

By the way don’t forget to give us that link.

out of interest, if you guys all hate these ebooks so much, why are you spending your time looking for them, reading them, downloading etc….

anyone with common sense knows they all contain the same info. And for all you guys sick of their landing pages, sales pitches etc, why you reading them….??

I dont intend to read any get rich ebooks, but at the end of the day, if someone thinks they can buy a 10 page ebook and get rich overnight, they deserve to have their money taken…

Jon - I like your passion and “going for the throat” of these shonky ebooks.

I’m in the business - ePublishingDaily and KickstartPress - and I’m really trying to shake up the ebook industry in my own small way.

I’m really sick and tired of being tarred with the same feather as all those shonks - there really are information product developers out there with some morals and who strive to offer up the best product (I like to see myself in that boat).

I’m also sick of the shonky sales letters that offer the world, I hate those $47, $67, $97 ebooks that are nothing more than a patch work of rubbish.

I applaud you in bringing all of this to light and a ebook review service/site just makes complete sense to me - a real ebook developer shouldn’t be afraid if they’re delivering the goods.

    All the best
